Wanders of the Week #2

5th December 2016 by Sarah 4 Comments

As I mentioned last week, I’m going to be sharing with you my wanders of the week.  Mainly to give you some inspiration as to what you could do while also working!  It really doesn’t have to be a chore.

Busy week

This week has been a busy one.  With Meet Ups, getting things sorted for the holidays, it would have been very easy to slack off and not get the morning and evening miles.  Even with my knee playing up a bit this weekend, I have still been out there walking. We have done our usual morning and evening miles to and from Manchester city centre, explored around Collyhurst and Harpurhey.  It has been fun getting into the back streets, snooping in car parks and derelict land and discovering new (and gritty) things about the city and surrounding areas.

Of course we had picnics with us too – that is a given, right?  And took form selfies for the Weekend Photowalk Challenge (check them out on Instagram #TUWPhotowalk)

Wanders of the Week #2

In an even shorter video this week, here are my wanders of the week numero 2!  I hope that you enjoy it.  It has been much cooler and more autumnal this week, so much darker golden and cold!

Poorly Knee

Unfortunately as the weekend drew in, my knee (long-term knee injury issues) started to appear which has slowed me down a little bit. By a little bit, I mean that I still managed to get 62.34 miles last week and a good 4.91 this morning with my knee strapped and insulated with some wooly leggings. I don’t think (at this point) that it is going to stop me this week, but I might have to take it a little easier – we’ll see!

So for now, I have my stylish leggings tucked under my jeans, a wheat bag warming my knee and a delicious cuppa to keep me going while I type away the weekend wanders.

I hope that my week will inspire you to get outside today and this week.  I would love to hear that you’re getting up to, so please do share in the comments!  Help keep me still for a bit to rest this knee of mine!

Here’s to another week of adventures and exploring!

Hello wanderer!

Manchester based outdoor and travel writer UK

I’m a writer and urban explorer who’s written for Lonely Planet (England and Experience England). The Urban Wanderer is where I share slow travel, city walks, food, cats, and the everyday adventures found close to home. I believe the outdoors isn’t only in the countryside — it’s in the streets, parks, corners and communities we live in.

Come wander with me, one small discovery at a time.
