I honestly thought that trampoline parks were only open for children to use. That was until I found Jump Ninja inside my Buckt activity subscription box. I am working with them this year to share the experiences you get in the monthly boxes. So far I have been so surprised at how much fab stuff there is for adults to do in Manchester!
Jumping into the week
After coming back from our holiday in Barcelona and Valencia, we have been on a brilliant wave of exciting activities. The perfect way to ease yourself back into home life after a trip. On Sunday last week, we had a drumming lesson in the big old mill we walk past daily. Then after work on Monday, we were bouncing around like (sweaty) lunatics at Jump Ninja trampoline park. The best bit was that we were the only two people in the whole place!
On arrival
When you arrive, you will get your special non-slip Jump Ninja socks, complete the disclaimer form and you’ll watch the safety video. We were allowed to take our phones into the area because I was documenting it, but as a general rule you leave things outside. There are lockers for your kit (plenty of room for my back pack, coat, keys etc) but you will have to remember to bring a pound or trolley token to use them.
And then you get to go bouncing!
The sessions run on the hour every hour. You can jump in for part of a session, but you only get to the hour, so it is better to wait for a whole session. We went following half-term and asked whether it was always this quiet. Our session leader said that it was generally quieter during the week, so it was likely that you would get the entire place at this time. Certainly a bonus as we got to have a go on everything without having to wait. Or, as I discussed with Splodz on Twitter, squishing toddlers!
Not just trampolines
It turns out that trampoline parks have more than just trampolines. We got to have a go on the obstacle course, which was far harder than it looked, and the pugil sticks. One thing to not on these is that the foam pit is not as deep as you think. When you plop in, you can touch the bottom with your feet.
Jit’s favourite was the air pads! Leaping through the air into the giant airbags feeling like some kind of stunt master. There are three ways you can take to leap onto the pads and each of them equally fun.
We also got to pretend we were major league basket ball players going for that slam dunk! (not something I thought I would ever write on this blog, but there you go!)
Best start to the week
…for now! I can honestly say that this was one of the most fun things to do as an adult! Had it not been for the Buckt box though, I don’t think I would have found out that it can be for adults with no kids.
I thought I was pretty up on things to do around Manchester and it seems that there are things that even my eager radar missed out on. If you’re having a yucky day, are feeling a splurge of energy or just having any kind of day for that matter, I really insist that you have a trip to the trampoline park at some point!
You will definitely get hot and sweaty and you will laugh a lot! The best kind of medicine for any kind of day.
We might not have had the skills of the staff, but we certainly had an ace time!
Have you ever been to a trampoline park? Are you a fan of trying new activities?
Let me know in the comments, along with any other suggestions of things we should be trying too!
If you fancy giving the Buckt subscription a go, I have a 50% off code for your first box. Simply add: URBANWANDERER to the code box to get your discount! It is great because you get five activities a month for £12.50 per person and you can cancel at any time.
