Last weekend we went out hunting snow in Littleborough. We had been predicted a good covering of snow, but only got a bit of a spattering. Having been looking forward to taking our daily wanders in the snow we decided to go hunting for snow in Littleborough instead as it is higher ground and usually gets a better dusting as it is on the way down the Pennines.
Finding snow
Although we did find some snow, we also found lots of ice, frozen mud and not some deep patches of not-so-frozen mud! It was a slippery, squelchy and exciting hike which was certainly worth it for the views and adventure.
I’ll be writing the walk up later this week but for now I thought I would share the video to give you a taster of our adventure! There wasn’t as much snow as we had expected, but even the amount there was was enough to have us dancing the River Dance on the side of the hills!
Hunting snow in Littleborough is only one of the things that we plant to do this year in Rochdale as we have so many other places yet to explore and discover! This was certainly a fun way to get started anyway. Here’s to how we mean to go on!
I hope you enjoy it as much as we did taking it!
Have you ever walked any of the South Pennines?
Have you explored the Reservoir Trail?
